{guest blogger elisabeth: supercool invitations}

These are, in my most humble opinion, the coolest, bestest invitations ever. They let you know right off the bat that this is going to be fun, fun, fun so don’t get stressed about icky formalities. And it’s clear from the responses that the happy couple has super cool friends too. If I can figure out a way to encourage the same from our friends while keeping the whole barn in Maine theme in mind, I’ll do the same. Printed by Coeur Noir for Robin Rosenthal and Matt Hall, in Martha Stewart Weddings Winter 2006.

  1. I love them! I have been trying to design invites for my wedding that are sophisticated and fun and quirky and sexy too, I have been inspired, thank you!

  2. okay, elisabeth: i have to let you know that i have these invites ripped out of martha stewart. one of my all-time favs! (didn’t they use buttons for something, too?) okay, i’m obsessed. 🙂

  3. I know! And I think what makes them so successful is that there’s a great balance: fun text with really muted ink. Printed in 2 colors it would have looked ridiculous. Another is that the all of the various elements aren’t squared at the edges. I totally love it.

  4. Oh and yes, there were buttons and fake mustaches and a fun spin on favors. And all against a fairly elegant setting. Again, perfect balance.
