This is the home of my landlords and neighbors, Ann and Jesper and their three children. They moved out here to the Stockholm Archipelago from the city just last year and are restoring a 10 year old home. One of the first things they did upon moving in, was to white wash the floors and all the walls of the interior. Ann calls their style, " A harmonious mix of old and new."
The dining room is a mix of new purchases and family heirlooms, like the chandelier which belonged to Ann's grandmother. With so many traditional features like the built-in fireplaces and the clapboard ceilings, it is hard to tell if the home is old or new. The outside is currently being painted but features a traditional grass roof! Hopefully I can show that to you soon. See more photos and details on my Flickr.
Oh wow – this is absolutely delightful! Such restraint. I’m inspired to declutter!
Beautiful! I hope their kids don’t get muddy feet!
Goodness I love all the warm whites!
i love this. all the white is insanely gorgeous!
What a lovely home all crips and fresh in white.
I love swedish houses, they are simple, eco-friendly and simply beautiful! Love this post!

Oh my. I absolutely LOVE this home! Light, old+new, and simple. I’m inspired!
gah! it’s perfection. such beautiful soft light. my attempts at all white always end with a muddy boot.
I love that even Ann’s place settings are all white. Their home is a wonderful endormsent of the Scandinavian custom of removing your shoes before entering a home.
Simple, elegant, beautiful…
I love all that white… so soothing. Thanks for posting; the home is lovely (and I’m kind of an old house snob!). 🙂

so beautiful.
would you mind listing the paint color(s) used?
I’ve had the hardest time finding the right whites.
Hi Natalie. Thanks for your comment. I will get in touch with the owners and see if they have a record of the paint colors and companies. If I forget, will you email me? chelseafuss (at) gmail (dot) com.
Thanks!!
