  1. how funny! i recently discovered the link yesterday and then proceeded to watch all episodes. loved jonny lee miller as knightley. i also thought frank churchill was a hottie!

  2. I hadn’t heard this was on yet. I liked the Gwenyth Paltrow’s version, but I just saw a few minutes of this one…I am totally addicted now. And the men are so good looking!! Thank you so much!

  3. Wasn’t it wonderful?! Being a London girl, I got to see it on TV, I was already a little bit in love with Jonny Lee Miller, this just made it ten times worse! And that line at the end… “I examined my own heart…and there you were…never, I fear, to be removed”. SWOON!

  4. Oh my goodness! I had no idea there was a recent BBC version. I will need to watch it for sure. I usually adore their versions of the classics, especially Jane Austen stories.

  5. Oh good grief! I love this book but was sure I would just wait for PBS to air this version… until you mentioned Jonny Lee Miller. Now I know how I am going to spend my Veteran’s Day.

  6. Ha ha. I first remember seeing Jonny Lee Miller in Hackers. Such an awesome 90’s movie. I’ll have to check out this version of Emma. Funny, I was jut thinking about the Gwyneth version the other day…and I haven’t seen it in years.

  7. Emma was wonderful, I thought Johnny Lee Miller was outstanding, his delivery of “Badly done, Emma” was…guh.

If you want to download it to keep, the BBC community on Livejournal has the download links.

  8. THANK YOU SO MUCH for listing this!!! i love jane austen and period pieces and it was wonderful, and lovely, and heartwrenching, and again lovely. oh thank you thank you!

  9. Thank you SO much for posting about this! JLM is still pretty easy on the eyes, isn’t he? Romola Garai was pretty good as Emma, but I could have done without some of her internal dialogue which I don’t recall being part of Austen’s work. I watched the whole series over the past two days and think I’m going to have to do it again very soon. I just hope no one takes the videos down…
