My little brother just got back from a birding expedition in Mongolia and he brought back some Russian chocolates he bought there. They are delicious (one includes ground sunflower seeds!). I flipped over the packaging!

  1. oh my gosh! this is really nostalgic for me.
my grandparents were russian and i used to eat these as a child.
    i had almost forgotten!

  2. Can I just say that the three bears chocolates were the reason I put on untold amounts of weight while living in Russia? I have a whole collection of russian candy wrappers… the best are the creepy baby pictures!

  3. aren’t they delicious?! my brother’s wife is russian and they are living there now (however moving back to the states this year…yay!) so whenever they come to visit or whenever her parents go over to visit, they always come back with loads of candy and chocolates. so yummy. and so pretty. it’s hard not to eat them all up in one sitting. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. These are great! My father used to go away on business trips to Russia and always brought back similar stuff – I used to eat the chocolate and keep the wrappers, too good to throw out!

  5. How sweet of your brother! My family always buys back such sweeties from abroad, and i don’t bear sinking a tooth in them.

Love the packaging so much! That’s why i guess. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Just goes to show that if it “ain’t broke don’t fix it.” Packaging doesn’t need to be X-TREME (sorry couldn’t help myself) to grab attention.

I’m a newbie blogger so just wanted to stop in and say hi!

  7. i buy these all the time (im on the east coast). but you can go to russianfoods.com and get them delivered or find a russian store in your area. (mine are in new brunswick, philadelphia, and brighton beach, ny). enjoy!

  8. I visited Moscow last year and brought home a large sack of these. I was persuaded by the pretty packaging. Those bear ones were my favorite!

  9. I live in a Russian neighborhood and I will definately keep my eye out for the creepy babies. I am way jealous of your brothers trip to Mongolia. Amazing!

  10. The Creepy Baby (I wish I could send a picture of this, it is amazing) is ััะบะพั„ัะปัŒ ะบั€ะพั…ะฐ. Blue with a terrifying baby on the front, also perhaps the tastiest of any of the candies I consumed en mass whilst there. I think they’re made at the yaroslavl candy factory, but I’m not sure…

  11. I live in Russia and see these candies every day, they are still very popular here, most of them didn’t change design and taste since 1950`s

  12. Oh, I grew up with these. TBH, they used to taste way better. I actually find the ones made in the US much better than the ones that are now made in Russia…

  13. Aw, I grew up with these, just like a lot of the people that commented… Thankfully, they’re much easier to find stateside than 15 years ago, when we first moved here.
