I usually think of asters as a simple country flower but for this project, they became dramatic with almost an Indian flair. The confetti-like petals are so pretty too! To make the garland, we sewed the flowers together with a needle and fishline. It's a great technique for longer garlands and head wreaths too. You can see full directions over at Project Wedding.

I wanted to do flower chair garlands for our wedding (but couldn't as we had to move our chairs to a field and then back to a barn.) I also had no idea how to make one. Saving this DIY for a special party! Thanks, Chelsea!

beautiful! Do you think this could be pulled off with silks instead of fresh flowers so you could make it ahead of time?
