I went as a mushroom a couple of years ago to a magical forest-themed party and it worked a treat. That costume is missing a mycelium though. Intrinsic part of a mushroom.

it reminds me of the time my friend came with a red pillow strapped to her head with big white dots, she came as a mario mushroom! it was adorable!
