I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite spots in Stockholm. I spent a couple of weeks staying at Joanna's beautiful apartment, then returned to the city for a few days on my way back from Berlin. If you've been following my blog for a few years, you'll remember I spent four months in the Stockholm Archipelago back in 2009 as well. Stockholm is a city I dream of living in someday. I really appreciate how walkable it is and I love that you can almost always see water!
Rosendals Trädgård is a lovely garden/nursery/cafe. There's a cutting garden, an apple orchard, a shop, greenhouses and a delicious cafe. Check out my other posts about it here and here and here. It's on the beautiful green island of Djurgården where Skansen is also located.
Nytorget Urban Deli If you like good food in pretty packaging, you must check out this little gourmet market!
Skansen This living history museum is a must-see. Be sure and eat a donut at the bakery. If you happen to be there during Midsummer, the festivities are incredibly lovely!
Kottbären This restaurant is also a butcher shop. I ate the best meal of my trip here.
Östermalms Saluhall This food hall houses tons of delicous food and it's so much fun to just wander around.
Stockholm Stadmission There are several of these thrift stores around Stockholm and I've always found really great clothing and props at them. My favorite location is in Kungsholmen.
Stockholm Archipelago I don't think you should take a trip to Stockholm without taking a boat ride through the islands of the archipelago. I lived in Resaro which is mostly residential but also loved exploring Grinda and Finnhamn.
Nygårds Anna Check out this beautiful clothing shop for wearable pieces in natural fibers. Super lovely.
Grandpa This shop is filled with new and vintage clothing and home goods. I adore wandering the neighborhood at the Södermannagatan location.
Slottsträdgården Ulriksdal You'll want to plan time to wander the trails and eat at the cafe. Pia was kind enough to show me this gorgeous park and garden nursery. It's a short bus road outside the city and totally worth the little extra time it takes to get there.

I agree with you that Stockholm is a city that lures you back. I visited there for the first time two years ago and was swept off my feet by the beauty of the city. The people are so welcoming and the archipelago is stunning. I love that it's a place that celebrates the sunshine when it comes - even homes are built for it with all the glorious windows. And don't get me started on the chandeliers you see everywhere. They add such elegance, even in the most rustic of cottages. I'm looking forward to getting one of my own!

we were in Stockholm in 2008 and I would agree ~ i wanted to stay and live there. it's not a flashy touristy city like Paris, it's just a great, beautiful, livable city. i can not wait to return. you have inspired me to remember our trip. we were surprised that we had some of the best food of any trip during our time in Sweden, and the bread in Sweden never disappointed - yum!

AAhh! You make me miss the city I grew up in! :) I now live in Copenhagen and although I thin kit's a great city I miss Stockholm's beauty and all its cafes!

Thank you for all these tips! I went to Stockholm and Finnhamn in 2009 and I liked so much these places. Maybe I'll go back next May so I keep your tips ;)

I have traveled from sdyney to Stockholm last june. One of the coolest places is the former prison on Långholmen island. My 12 year old son and I took a room there. It is this green park like area very close to the central part of the city.
