This was probably one of my favorite shoots to work on. Lisa Warninger took all the photos and Lauren Hartmann helped with wardrobe and even stepped in to model. Thanks girls! Full credits below. I had the chance to style this shoot with Lisa Warninger  back in February. The fun part is this shoot was filmed by Framed so you can come along behind the scenes. The show is a feature all about Lisa so you'll learn a little bit about how she works as a photographer. I know a lot of you are curious about the behind the scenes on these shoots so here you go! tokketok letterpress shop

Have you seen the new Tokketok online shop? Tokketok's spare but playful style style reminds me of something you'd see in Japan though it's based right here in Portland! Tokkektok is what a chicken says in Dutch and for the website, Joke, the owner, recorded her son pronouncing it! So cute, right? Go have a looksie at the site for some paper eye candy!

 Lisa Warninger shot the photography for the whole website and I had pleasure of styling the sets. A big thank you to Joke, the designer behind Tokketok! She has such exquisite taste that it made our job too easy. Check out her adorable blog and projects right here. More from the shoot here.

new styling work: tokketok letterpress catalog

 

Here's a preview of the new Tokketok website + catalog that I styled (captured by my favorite photographer on the block, Lisa Warninger). The ceramic letters were created by Mitsy Sleurs. Joke, the designer behind Tokketok has such a great, modern + unexpected style (she writes a beautiful blog). Plus, she as a person is simply a treat! This was a really fun project. Look for the website to launch soon.

wedding editorial: ballet-inspired details

A performance by the Pacific Northwest Ballet last month prompted me to organize a bridal photo shoot for Project Wedding inspired by ballerina style. I gathered my favorite wedding girls for an afternoon session at The Cleaners. Lucky for us, Lisa Warninger served as photographer.

 

The dress, created by Elizabeth Dye, includes two removable skirts. The first is a soft tulle, dyed to just the right ballerina-pink hue! The second is a fun silk organza mini adorned with a fluff of gorgeous handmade flowers. I think the latter would also be cute for prom!

The amazing Madeline Roosevelt created two hairstyles. The first, a side swept chignon and the second, a flirty side braid. Our model, Hannah rocked both.
 

For a bit of cheeky fun, we added little swan details everywhere and instead of a wedding cake, brought in a croquembouche! See Project Wedding for the full article. Thank you to all involved!!

wedding editorial: a greenhouse picnic

 
I recently had the chance to put together a greenhouse wedding shoot with photographer, Lisa Warninger for Project Wedding. The story is inspired by last summer's visits to Rosendals Trädgård, a delightful garden with greenhouses and orchards, in Sweden.

  

A gorgeous English greenhouse filled with orange blossoms, lily of the valley, myrtle, hyacinth, and snowdrops was our backdrop. (garden props from Terrain + plants from Cornell Farms)

  

Delicious snap pea and fennel salad, and English cucumber sandwiches on rosemary, sea salt baguettes were served with basil-infused lemonade. (Food by Elizabeth Fuss)

   

The bride wore a cotton tea-length dress with a pinafore (By Elizabeth Dye) and the groom wore a Liberty style tie and straw boater hat (Tie from Fieldguided). Hand-drawn invitations set the scene (By Nisee Made).

wedding editorial: a vintage sewing room

Last spring I shared a sneak peek of a collaboration I participated in with Lisa Warninger, Elizabeth Dye, and Myra Callan. Today, I am excited to share the full set of images with you!

 

Our mission was to spotlight the gorgeous, heirloom quality wedding dresses of Elizabeth Dye  and the handmade floral headpieces of Myra Callan (Twigs & Honey). My job was prop and floral styling.  Lisa Warninger was the obvious choice for photographer.

We were inspired by vintage sewing rooms, old haberdashery and the tradition of handmade clothing.

  

The wall was made from a Victorian poetry book. Most of the props were gathered from Elizabeth's sketchbooks and studio, and the sewing rooms of my mother and grandmother.
